The Wall of Winnipeg and Me
Vanessa Mazur knows she’s doing the right thing. She shouldn’t feel bad for quitting. Being an assistant/housekeeper/fairy godmother to the top defensive end in the National Football Organization was always supposed to be temporary. She has plans and none of them include washing extra-large underwear longer than necessary.
But when Aiden Graves shows up at her door wanting her to come back, she’s beyond shocked.
For two years, the man known as The Wall of Winnipeg couldn’t find it in him to tell her good morning or congratulate her on her birthday. Now? He’s asking for the unthinkable.
What do you say to the man who is used to getting everything he wants?
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
The Wall of Winnipeg and Me by Mariana Zapata is an amazing book and is my favorite of 2016 reads so far! I loved this book. This is the first time I am reading something from this author, now I am actually looking forward to explore her work!
I think what really blew me away about this book was the anticipation of romance, the slow build of romance in the story is actually like really good foreplay and the when the romance really blossoms at the veryy end of the book you are soo excited that it made the end result is thousand times better.
I had decided I was really going to hate Aiden “The Wall of Winnipeg” Graves at the beginning of this book, but as the story moved forward I guess his character just grew on me. There were moments he was so aggravating I actually wanted to throw something at him and then there were those moments I just couldn’t stay mad at him, he’s a super sexy huge dummy I couldn’t help fall in love with. As for Vanessa, I loved her character- her strength, her determination, her loyalty to Aiden is inspiring in so many ways.
Two really different characters but they fit so well together.
Zac who is Aiden’s roommate/teammate is like the perfect garnish to this story.
All in all this book ticked all the boxes that were needed to make it my favorite. Highly Recommend this book!!
